A short weekend in Tel Aviv

Début décembre nous sommes allées pour la première fois en Israël, un pays qui nous fascinés depuis très longtemps et qui est surnommé la Miami sur Méditerranée.
On arrive à Tel Aviv un vendredi, jour de Shabbat, du coup l'aéroport est presque desert. Nous n'avons pas encore mis le pieds dehors l'aéroport et nous sommes déjà dépaysé.
Nous avions que deux jours complets à Tel Aviv. Si vous y rester aussi très peu voici un itinéraire parfait pour voir un maximum de cette ville très européenne.  

In early December we went for the first time to Israel, a Country that fascinated us for a very long time and which is also called: "the Miami on the Mediterranean".
We arrive in Tel Aviv on a Friday, Shabbat day, so the airport was almost desert. We haven't set foot outside the airport and we are already out of place. We had only two days in Tel Aviv. If you also stay for a short time here is this could be the perfect route to see a maximum of this European looking city.


Commencez la journée par une longue promenade sur le front mer aménagé "à la californienne". Vous y trouverez une longue promenade piétonne, pistes cyclable, bar-restos de plage. De quoi tomber déjà dans le charme de cette ville. Marchez en direction de Jaffa, vieux quartier et un de plus vieux port au monde, où juifs et arabes vivent dans une atmosphère apaisée. 
Faites un arret à la boulangerie l'Abulafia qui existe depuis le 1879. Ici tout est cuit dans un grand four à bois, vous aurez l'embarrasse du choix. Pour tout digérez vous pouvez marcher un peu dans le marché "Flea Market", vous tomberez dans le charme si vous aimez l'antiquaire. 

Start the day with a long walk on the ocean front looking like the California coast. There you will find a long pedestrian promenade, bike paths, bar-beach restaurants. What to fall already in the charm of this city. Walk towards Jaffa, an old quarter and one of the oldest port in the World, where Jews and Arabs live in a peaceful atmosphere. Make a stop at the Abulafia bakery that has existed since 1879. Here everything is cooked in a large wood oven. For your digestion you can have a little walk in the "Flea Market", you will fall in love if you like the antique dealer.


Direction le Carmel Market, le plus grand marché de Tel Aviv. Fruits, legumes, vêtements, épices, produits électroniques et plus encore. N'oubliez pas de boire un verre de jus de grenade, une pure délice et excellent pour votre santé. 

Head for Carmel Market, the largest market in Tel Aviv. Fruits, vegetables, clothing, spices, electronics and more. Don't forget to drink a glass of pomegranate juice, a pure delight and excellent for your health.


Si vous avez faim c'est l'heure de déjeuner chez Sabich, ici vous mangerez la meilleur pita vegetarienne de toute votre vie! Tout est frais et tout est préparé devons vos yeux. L'endroit est très petit et simple, pas de table pour s'assoir mais cela fait partie du charme.

If you are hungry it's time for lunch at Sabich, here you will eat the best vegetarian pita of your life! Everything is fresh and prepared in front of you. The place is very small and simple, no tables to sit but it's part of the charm.

Pour digérer une promenade facé à la mer est l'idéal. Vous pourrez aussi vous assoir et admirer les surfeurs. Sinon louez un vélo et explorez le Rothschild Boulevard, une avenue arborée dans le quartier White City.


C'est l'heure de dinner? Allez au The old man and the sea un restaurant sur le port très sympa avec un rapport qualité prix imbattable. Les restaurant sont plus chère qu'en Europe mais ici le menu proposé vaut vraiment. De plus de que vous prenez place, une varieté incroyable des salades vous sera servis. une fois terminé à vous le choix de commander encore une assiette (viande ou poisson) ou de vous arrêter là.

To digest a nice walk by the sea is ideal. You can also sit and admire the surfers. Or rent a bike and explore Rothschild Boulevard, a tree-lines avenue in the White City district. 
Is it dinner time? Go to "The old man and the sea" restaurant on the Harbor,  a very friendly place with unbeatable value of money. Here the restaurants are more expensive than in Europe but here the proposed menu really worth it. Immediately when you take place, an incredible variety of salads will be served. Once done you have the choice to order another plate (meat or fish) or to stop there.


Si après cette journée vous avez encore de l'energie, profitez pour vivre Tel Aviv pendant la nuit. Cette ville est aussi connue pour savoir faire la fête!

If after this day you still have energy, enjoy Tel Aviv during the night. This city is also well known to know for the parties!
