Pendant notre sejour à Mykonos, nous avons logé au Super Paradise qui se trouve à 8km au sud-west de Chora. L'établissement est à 1 minute à pied de la plage. Situé sur la célèbre plage Super Paradise, l'hôtel est en style cycladique et propose des chambres climatisées, un mini-réfrigérateur, un coffre-forte et une salle de bains privative. Des suites sont aussi proposé avec une vue sur la mer.

Le Super Paradise possède l'un des bars les plus populaires de Mykonos et un restaurant en libre-service où vous pourrez déguster des plats traditionnels grecs. Le bar de la plage sert des cocktails exotique et des boissons rafraîchissantes.

During our stay in Mykonos, we stayed at the Super Paradise which is located just 8km southwest of Chora. The property is a 1-minute walk distance from the beach. Located on the famous Super Paradise Beach, the hotel has a Cycladic style and offers air-conditioned rooms, a mini-fridge, a safe and a private bathroom. Suites are also offered with sea views.

The Super Paradise has one of Mykonos' most popular bars and a self-service restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Greek dishes. The beach bar serves exotic cocktails and refreshing beverages.

Dans le centre de l'hotel une joli terrasse est à votre disposition pour un moment de relax ou pour pouvoir prendre votre petit-déjeuner.

In the center of the hotel a nice terrace is at your disposal for a moment of relax or to take your breakfast.

Si vous le souhaitez sur la plage vous pourrez louer un transat pour la journée.

Malheureusement l'hotel n'est pas desservie par des bus locaux mais juste par un bus de l'hotel qui vous amenera dans le centre de Chora pou 9€ a/r. Pensez peut-etre à loué une voiture ou un scooter.

Si vous voulez vous rendre sur la plage juste pour passer une journée alors vous pouvez choisir le bateau-taxi.

If you wish on the beach you can rent a sunbeds for the day.

Unfortunately the hotel is not served by local buses but just by a bus from the hotel that will take you to the center of Chora for € 9 a / r. Think maybe to rent a car or a scooter;

If you want to go to the beach just to spend a day then you can choose the water taxi.

Le Super Paradise est l'hôtel idéal pour des groupes des amies ou des couples. Selon moi ce n'est pas un hôtel très approprié pour les familles.

The Super Paradise is a really good option if you like beach parties. Is the perfect hotel for groups of friends or couples. In my opinion this is not a very suitable hotel for families. But you can still enjoy the beach from the early morning and till 5PM when the parties start.

Quatre heures après avoir quitté l'île de Milos en bateau, nous arrivons à Mykonos. J'ai longtemps revé de cette île qui se situe entre Paros et Naxos au nord de Cyclades dans la mer Egée méridionale.

Tout au long de son histoire, l'île de Mykonos a été un vivier pour les marins, une cachette pour les pirates et un refuge pour les combattants de la liberté grecque.

Aujourd'hui, je crois bien qu'elle est la plus typique des îles greques, avec ses moulins à vent blanc et elle est devenue, avec Santorin, la plus commerciale. C'est une île très branchée, frequentée par les stars grecques et internationales. Ici on vient pour faire la fête jusqu'à l'aube.

Chaque année Mykonos reçoit la visite de 40.000 touristes et en 2010 le magazine Condé Nast Traveler l'a elue comme destination européenne favorite. Je peux vous assurer que, même si 7 ans sont passés, Mykonos et toujours dans le top 5 des meilleures déstinations.

Mykonos est aussi célèbre pour être une déstination "gay friendly" et ça depuis les années 1970.

Mais Mykonos est-elle vraiment juste une "party island"? Non, selon la saison à laquelle vous y allez Mykonos est faite pour tous: groupes d'amis, familles, couples et même voyageur en solo.

L'île vaut le détour si vous cherchez des belles plages, si vous voulez faire la fête et si vous voulez vous perdre dans ses merveilleuses ruelles bordées de petites maisons aux murs blanc et aux volets bleu délavé.

Les ruelles tortueuses de la ville principale de l'île, seraient un retour aux temps des pirates. La légende raconte que la ville a été construite de cette façon pour confondre les envahisseurs, qui ne pouvaient pas trouver leur chemin dans le coeur de la ville ou de retour.

Aujourd'hui, les visiteurs peuvent passer des heures interminables à flâner dans la vieille ville en regardant les nombreux magasins d'artisanat, de vêtements et de souvenirs. Ou ils peuvent se promener le long de la baie sur le côté ouest de l'île, le quartier de Alefkandra, connue sous le nom de "la Petite Venise", bordée de maisons dont les balcons surplombent l'eau.
Un peu plus à nord de ce quartier vour tomberez sur l'église Paraportiani qui est en réalité composée d'un assemblage de 5 églises différentes. C'est un des bâtiments les plus photographiés de Mykonos.

4 hours after leaving the island of Milos by boat, we arrive in Mykonos. I have dreamed since long time of this island which is located in the north of Cyclades between Paros and Naxos in the southern Aegean Sea.

Throughout its history, the island of Mykonos has been a breeding ground for sailors, a hiding place for pirates and a refuge for Greek freedom fighters.

Today, I think it is the most typical of the Greek islands, with its white windmills and it has become today, with Santorini, the most visited. This is a very trendy island, frequented by Greek and international stars. Here we come to party until dawn.

Every year, Mykonos receives 40,000 tourists and in 2010 Condé Nast Traveler magazine voted it as the favorite European destination. I can assure you that, even if 7 years has passed, Mykonos is still in the top 5 of the best destinations.

Mykonos is also known for being a "gay friendly" destination since the 1970s.

But is Mykonos really just a party island? No, depending on the season you go there Mykonos is for everyone: groups of friends, families, couples and even solo traveler.

The island is worth visiting if you are looking for beautiful beaches, if you want to party and if you want to get lost in the wonderful lanes lined with small houses with white walls and faded blue shutters.

The winding lanes of the island’s main town, are said to be a throwback to the pirate days. Legend has it that the town was built that way to confuse invaders, who could not find their way into the heart of town or back out.

Today, visitors can spend endless hours wandering through the old town looking at the many crafts, clothing and souvenir shops. Or they can take a walk to an area along the bay on the west side of the island, the Alefkandra Quarter, known as the "Little Venice Quarter", lined with houses whose balconies project over the water.
A little further, in the north of this district you will come across the Paraportiani Church, which is actually composed of 5 different churches. It is one of the most photographed buildings in Mykonos.

Vous pouvez arriver sur l'île par avion, l'aeroport est a seulement 4km du centre ville, ou par bateaux depuis le port de Rafina (Athènes) ou depuis les autres îles grecques. Il exist deux ports: celui de Tourlos et l'ancien port de Mykonos. Ensuite pour vous déplacer dans l'île vous pouvez louer une voiture, un scooter ou utiliser les bus locaux.

En ce qui concerne l'hébergement, vous pouvez choisir de séjourner dans un hôtel quatre étoiles ou dans l'un des nombreux bed-and-breakfast. Il y a du choix. Les plus audacieux voudront peut-être tenter leur chance de trouver une chambre à leur arrivée, parfois à prix réduit. Mais attention, pendant la haute saison l'île affiche souvent "complet".

You can arrive on the island by plane, the airport is only 4km from the city center, or by boat from Rafina (Athens) or from all the other Greek islands. There are two ports: the one of Tourlos and the old port of Mykonos. Then to move around the island you can rent a car, a scooter or use local buses.

When it comes to accommodation you can choose to stay in a four-star hotel or in one of the many bed-and-breakfasts. You have several choices. The most daring of you may want to try their luck to find a room on their arrival, sometimes at a reduced price. But beware, during high season the island displays "fully booked".
We stayed in the Super Paradise hotel (I will tell you everything in the next post). But if you wanna stay in the center of Chora you can go for the Mykonos Theoxenia, a five star boutique hotel that will offer you every luxury and comfort you may desire.

La délicieuse cuisine servie à Mykonos est un autre atout de l'île. Que vous dîniez dans un restaurant élégant ou dans un petit café, la cuisine grecque est toujours exquise avec beaucoup de fruits de mer frais, de l'agneau grillé et des merveilleuses salades grecques.

Nous avons mangé les deux jours chez Kalamaki Mykonos car c'était vraiment délicieux. Une cuisine simple, avec des produits grecques frais et de qualité. Le prix sont vraiment bas, comptez 2,80€ pour un souvlaki.
La terrasse est très jolie et vous mangez face à la mer :-)
Le personnel est très prévenant et souriant, meilleur restaurant rapport qualité-prix à Mykonos.

The delicious cuisine served at Mykonos is another asset of the island. Whether you dine in an elegant restaurant or a small café, Greek cuisine is always tasty with lots of fresh seafood, grilled lamb and wonderful Greek salads.
We ate both days at Kalamaki Mykonos because it was so delicious. A simple, Greek cuisine with fresh and quality products. The prices are really low considering the restaurant is located in front of the sea :-) We tried the famous souvlaki, only for 2,80€ and also some typical Greek starters. I'm getting hungry again ;-) The staff is very attentive and smiling, best value restaurant in Mykonos.

Le couché de soleil est très connu à Mykonos car ses couleurs sont magnifiques. Vous pourrez l'observer depuis "little Venice". Nous avons adorer le Bao's Cocktail Bar, qui prend son nom du pirate Bao. Il propose des cocktails audacieux qui sont délicieux. Emplacement parfait pour regarder le coucher de soleil.
On a eu de la chance, car pendant notre séjour le bar fêtez son premier anniversaire. Nous avons donc passé une soirée excellente avec de la bonne musique et une super ambiance.

The sunset is well known in Mykonos because the colors are beautiful. You can observe it from "little Venice". We loved the Bao's Cocktail Bar, which takes its name from the pirate Bao. It offers daring cocktails that are delicious. Perfect location to watch the sunset.
We were lucky, because during our stay the bar celebrated its first Birthday. So we spent an excellent evening with good music, lovely people and a great atmosphere.

Envie d'aller à Mykonos?
Depuis Bruxelles vous pouvez choisir de voyager avec Aegean Airlines mais vous pouvez aussi voyager sur Athènes et ensuite prendre un ferry. Le plus rapide c'est de prendre le Fast Ferries depuis Rafina pour seulement 29€ ou 45€ si vous choisissez de voyager en business.
A ce prix là, ça serait vraiment dommage de ne pas y aller ;-)
En classe business vous serez à l'avant du bateau avec une vue magnifique et vous aurez un bar à votre disposition. Le personnel est très serviable, souriant et accueillant.
En plus ils proposent toujours des offres très intéressantes.

Want to go to Mykonos?
From Brussels you can choose to travel with Aegean Airlines but you can also travel to Athens and then catch a ferry. The fastest is to take the Fast Ferries from Rafina for only € 29 or € 45 if you choose to travel in business.
At this price it would be a shame not to buy it ;-)
In business class you will be at the front of the boat with a magnificent view and you will have a bar at your disposal. The staff is very helpful, smiling and welcoming.
