Pigna & Bastia - discovering the inner treasures of the North Corsica

The sun is up and our last day in Corsica begins. We leave l'Ile Rousse after a good breakfast at l'hôtel Escale and we take the road to Pigna to discover the road of the know-how of the Balagne. What is very interesting to know is that there is also a port at l'Ile Rousse. So if you do not have much time or you don't want to return to Bastia for the ferry, know that Corsica Linea also leaves from here to Marseille.

We arrive in Pigna and we are very well received by the Mayour of the village and the President of the craftsmen. Indeed in Pigna there is a lot of small workshop where you can discover the ancestral trades as: ceramist, painter, printer and much more.
The sea view is beautiful and the weather is just perfect. We don't have much time in Pigna but a delicious meal was prepared at the  A Casa Musicale restaurant.

We take the road towards Bastia passing through the Agriates desert. Once arrived in Bastia we visit the Citadel. Very nice neighborhood, from where we have a beautiful view of Bastia. As a last activity before our departure we are invited to attend a private concert of Corsican polyphonic songs. This one takes place in a small Church. My God, what a beautiful and intense moment. I wouldn't have believe but I have chills.

And here we are, back to the San Nicolas square where is held the Salon du chocolat
It's time to leave Corsica on board of our Corsica Linea ferry. To my surprise we are invited to the cockpit. I'm speechless, it's beautiful. There are no lights in the room, so we appreciate the sea and starts. This is the first time I enter a bridge and I'm very happy.

Corsica is absolutely a beautiful place. Tourists from several places across the world come here to enjoy its beauty. This place has ancient elements with a modern touch. The building reminds as of past. But the way in which they are painted and decorated gives it a contemporary feature. The view of the sea from the fort is breathtaking. I hope the cuisine of Corsica is also very tasty and yummy. Thanks for giving details on your journey to Corsica.
