Visiting the center of Corsica and L'Île Rousse

The second day begins with a beautiful sun and after a good breakfast we are ready to discover the center of Corte. The historical and cultural capital of Corsica thanks to its central position on the island. It was chosen by Pascal Paoli as the capital of independent Corsica in 1750. The citadel houses since 1997 the museum of Corsica that we visit.

The view from the Citadel is just beautiful. We leave Corte behind us to reach the Clos Venturi. It was created in 1900 and is the only winery located in the interior of the island. The main grape varieties are niellucciu and syrah for reds; niellecciu, grenache and sciaccarellu for rosés and finally vermentinu for whites. Numerous medals, in the last years, have awarded the quality of the estates wines. And we were lucky to be able to taste them during our "spuninu" (lunch snack).

It's time to leave, we have two hours drive to get to the Parc of Saleccia at the gates of Ile Rousse. This 7-hectares park was created by a landscaper. You will find Corsian plants as well as from the Mediterranean. The Park is open from April to October.

Since the beginning of this trip l'Ile Rousse was the place that intrigued me the most. And I was not disappointed.

The view from the lighthouse is beautiful and we are lucky because we arrived just in time for the sunset. A few minutes later we arrive at the Escale hotel. This 3 star hotel is right in front of the sea in the heart of Ile Rousse. The hotel is modern with a clean design and offers standard and privileges rooms, a suites with jacuzzi on the roof and a duplex. All rooms are bright and spacious.

The breakfast is served in the restaurant of the hotel that is really beautiful. You can have breakfast in front of the sea. And this is priceless! You will have the choice between fresh fruit salad, pastries, eggs, bacon, yogurts, pancakes and more.

Our last dinner in Corsica will take place at the Restaurant "Chez Paco" specialized in seafood and fish but not only. He is also well known for his paella :-)
I love the decor of the room, you can "breathe" a "home" atmosphere that immediately gives you the desire to relax and enjoy a good meal in good company. In addition, you will see in the pictures, the dishes are very well presented.

After this delicious dinner is time for some sleep, tomorrow it will be our last day in Corsica.

Thanks for sharing the review and insight of the tour. It was really helpful, especially the pictures you embedded in the blog. As a history lover, I love travelling to antique places and exploring things. Due to Corona last year, I have not travelled, that is boring. After the Corona, I have been working on my dissertaion, which should be professional to get high grades. To makes it professional and do it on time, I gave this responsibility to the PhD dissertation writing services. I am planning the next tour after submitting it.
